
We are the Global Youth Media Council for the World Summit on Media For Children and Youth in Karlstad, Sweden, 2010. The Global Youth Media Council is composed of over 35 young people, ages ranging from 13 to 21, representing over 20 countries.
“Although we all come from different countries, we all realise the media is an important tool for education, participation and giving a real voice to children and young people…we will create an action plan for individual countries and also as the global youth, to take the campaign further.”

Here are the details of just a few of the young delegates:
Richard Lemmer, 21, is part of the UK Youth Media Council. He is a student journalist for Ctrl.Alt.Shift.
Uma Akhter, 19, is part of the UK Youth Media Council. She is studying law and has been a Young Major of Tower Hamlets, London.
Tom Robbins, 21, is part of the UK Youth Media Council. Tom was a young campaigner for the Channel 4 educational programme, Battlefront, and now works for a community-focused charity in London
Tom Web, 19, is part of the UK Youth Media Council. He is studying Journalism in Cardiff.
Yorka Nicosio, 13, is a representative from Bolivia, working with NGO Global Vision. She has made videos about her the large amount of garabge in her hometown.
Max Perdon, 13, is a student from Brisbane, Australia.
Jonathan Hackenberger, 13, is a student from Germany.
Bonzel Mendala, 17 is a representative from Angola. He is a student journalist who has been working in the media since he was 11.
Kajsa Jakobsson, 17, is a student from Karlstad, Sweden. She is part of the Swedish Youth Media Council and a youth organisation set up by the Karlstad kommun.
Danica Moller, 16, is student at Gordonvale State High School near Cairns, Australia. Her group raised money as the Austrilian Youth Media Council to travel to Sweden.
Amy Kello, 17, is a student from Mount Isa, Australia.
Vanessa Njoru, 17, is a student and a UNICEF worker from Lusaka, Zambia. She helped to organise a conference on Climate Change aimed at young people from across Zambia.
Kondwani Joe Banda, 18, is a student and a UNICEF worker from Lusaka, Zambia. He helped to organise a conference on Climate Change aimed at young people from across Zambia.
Adrian Amoddio, 15, is a student from Melbourne, Australia.
Mohammed Al-horr, 14, student is a student at Omar Bin al-Khattab school in Doha, Qatar. He was chosen from his Special Media Courses to attend the summit.
Mohammed Al-sulaiti, 15, is a student at Great Matks School. He is also a journalist providing news reports for Al-Jazzeria Children’s Channel.
Fanny Fernlof, 18, is a student from Karlstad, Sweden. She is part of the Swedish Youth Media Council and a youth organisation set up by the Karlstad kommun.
Kristin Evegard, 19, is a student from Karlstad, Sweden. She is part of the Swedish Youth Media Council and a youth organisation set up by the Karlstad kommun.
Maja Hyvonen, 19, is a student from Karlstad, Sweden. She is part of the Swedish Youth Media Council and a youth organisation set up by the Karlstad kommun.
Arda Eken, 17, is a student from Karlstad, Sweden. He is part of the Swedish Youth Media Council and a youth organisation set up by the Karlstad kommun.
Ghalia al-Farsi, 17, is a student from ABS school, Kuwait City, Kuwait. Her mother, Dr Rawia al-Humaidan, lectured on Media Literacy during the summit.
Changchup Choeden Sherpa, 17, is a student from Ullens School, Kathmandu, Nepal. She is part of the Nepali Youth Media Council.
